SUMMARY:Government Review Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Mission of the Government Review Committee (GRC) is to provide a basis for the Chamber to act on local\, state\, and federal government issues\, thus creating a favorable and profitable business climate. \nThe GRC reviews proposed legislation and issues which might have ramifications for local businesses.  The evaluation shall also take into account prior Chamber positions adopted by the Board of Directors.  The GRC makes recommendations\, when appropriate\, to the Board of Directors for the purpose of establishing official Chamber positions. \nThe GRC is committed to the long-term economic success of our local business community.  The GRC works to improve the effectiveness of legislation and regulations which affect our business environment every day.  The GRC reviews the actions of our elected officials and advocates for public policies which improve the economic outlook for members of the Chamber. \nAt GRC meetings\, guest speakers with business and political expertise may address the concerns of GRC members and bring essential facts and insights about issues facing the entire Chamber membership. \nIf you are concerned about a government issue that is impacting your business\, please let a member of the GRC know!

SUMMARY:Annual Installation & Awards Dinner
DESCRIPTION:The Chamber’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner will be hosted via Zoom webinar on Thursday\, January 21\, 2021. Like other organizations in Redlands\, this event has had to evolve to meet the needs of our current situation. \nSince its inception\, the Chamber of Commerce has held an annual meeting and dinner for members and guests\, recognizing outgoing and incoming board members along with civic awards. In December of 1902\, the event was held in the auditorium of the YMCA. As the years went on the event switched venues and dates\, but in recent years it has been hosted at the Casa Loma Room of the University of Redlands during the month of January. \nOne major change to the event and program – aside from it being virtual – is that the Man & Woman of the Year awards are being postponed to January 2022\, when four total recipients will be recognized. \nWhile the Man and Woman of the Year presentations will not be happening\, the Chamber will still be hosting a virtual annual meeting and recognizing the service of outgoing board members in addition to welcoming new board members. The program will also be filming short clips of board members and other participants to help make the virtual program more meaningful. Additionally\, the chamber will be partnering with local member restaurants for take away dinners to be enjoyed in the comfort of your home while watching the program. Since we cannot all gather together and enjoy dinner for this annual program\, we will do our best to recreate the atmosphere while supporting our members. \nDigital invitations will be sent to all chamber members on January 5\, 2021 and details for the event will be posted to the chamber’s website and social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram. \n
