New Beginnings (Homeless Employment Services)

What comes to mind when you think of a new beginning?

A new beginning symbolizes a reset or a fresh start.

The Redlands Chamber Workforce Development Department is proud to assist our clients which are formerly homeless individuals, in finding meaningful employment opportunities AT NO COST.

The focus of our “New Beginnings” program is to provide the tools and assistance needed to retain long-lasting meaningful employment. In providing resources, interview prep, resume assistance, etc., we empower our clients to become “job ready.” At the same time, we are constantly securing employers who will take our clients and allow them to build a better future for themselves and their families.

The Redlands Chamber provides basic employment services and resources including:

  • Employment, education and training targeting specific labor market needs
  • Supportive services such as interview and work clothing, transportation assistance, work items based on need and funding
  • Intensive career assessment, counseling, and planning
  • Occupational classroom training
  • Skill upgrading and retraining
  • On-the-job training
  • Job readiness training
  • Soft skills training
  • Private sector operated training
  • Industry-based, customized training based on employer need with up front agreement to be hired based on established conditions

The Redlands Chamber works with multiple organizations (including the Redlands Charitable Resource Coalition) to provide a comprehensive approach in reducing the number of those experiencing homelessness in Redlands.

If you need our services, we are here to help.

Alexis Bragg, our Workforce Development Coordinator, operates with a focus on the whole person and dedication to meeting people where they are while building them up for success. To set up an appoint to meet with Alexis, please email alexis@redlandschamber.org.

Open office hours with Alexis are also available at Redlands Family Services (612 Lawton St, Redlands, CA 92374) every Tuesday from 10am-2pm and Thursday from 10am-12:3pm.

Our “New Beginnings” program is one element of a strategic partnership between the Redlands Chamber of Commerce and City of Redlands who received a state grant, which is the California’s Encampment Resolution Funding Program (ERF) and administered by the California Interagency Council on Homelessness (Cal ICH).
